APICS - Enterprise Resource Planning

Course Description:

This course will introduce students to the benefits of implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Students will develop a business case to justify an ERP implementation.

Attendees will learn:
• Describe the concept of ERP and the ERP model.
• Explain how ERP is used to integrate business processes.
• Describe the elements of a value chain and how core processes relate.
• Identify the international issues that impact a worldwide implementation of ERP.
• Explain how key elements of organizational change management apply to an ERP implementation.
• Describe project organizational considerations; define the project management tools and resources needed to implement an ERP system.
• Describe how the knowledge management capability of an ERP system can be used to sustain competitive advantage.
