How long does it normally take to obtain PMP
Certification?
PMP Certification through the Project
Management Institute is a single test taking up to four hours. Prior to applying
for the test, criteria must be met:
- Bachelor degree and 4500 hours specific and documented
Project Management execution
- Non Bachelor degree and 6500 hours specific and documented
Project Management execution
What is involved in preparing for the
Certification exam?
Preparation courses vary from 3-5 days. ISSSC offers the
five day length to cover all nine key areas of focus in the Project Management
Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). Additionally, more in-depth training is offered by
ISSSC. Proven working templates will be provided and completed as part of the
course material. At course conclusion, students will have created a complete
project notebook and associated project documents. Exam preparation includes in
class reviews and self study.
What are the perceived benefits of having the
certification--to the individual--to other organizations?
Some perceived benefits of Project Management
certification are:

How long is the certification valid and what
is required for re-certification or seamless continuation of the certification?
The Certification is valid for a
period of 4 years at which point you must have accumulated 60 PDUs. If you have
not, your credential will expire which would require you to re-test.
